Gallery NOW is pleased to present Chikako Hirai: Kurawanka, on view from Friday, July 10 to Friday, July 31, 2026.
Rooted in traditional Japanese painting (Nihonga) techniques, Chikako Hirai continues to pursue her own unique artistic expression.
This exhibition centers on large-scale works exceeding three meters, such as the noren curtain Nosuri and the silver folding screen Panthalassa, Utau. Alongside these monumental pieces, we will also showcase a new series of small works titled Hanafuda-e, as well as her Sho-e works.
