Machiko Ogawa
Machiko Ogawa was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido in 1946.
In 1969 She graduated from Tokyo National University of the Arts, Department of Crafts, majoring in ceramics. After graduating the University, she studied ceramics at École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliques et des Métiers d’Art in Paris. (~’71)
From 1972 to 1975, she also studied ceramics in West Africa.

2001 The Japan Ceramic Society Award
2008 The 58th Minister of Education and Culture Award for Fine Arts
2019 The Japan Ceramic Society Award, Gold Prize
