Ryoko Tsukurimichi Core Glass Exhibition Friday, June 3 - Sunday, June 12, 2022
Gallery NOW is pleased to present “Ryoko Tsukurimichi Core Glass Exhibition” from June 3 (Fri.) to June 12 (Sun.), 2022.
Ryoko Tsukurimichi continues to work with the ancient core glass technique, which is believed to have been created in Mesopotamia around 1600 BC.
She has been creating botanical works by utilizing her sense of color, which she acquired through oil painting during her college days.
In recent years, she has been working on a series of works inspired by the patterns of the ancient Orient, the roots of the technique, as well as a variety of other expressions that reflect her reverence for the world’s traditional cultures.
In addition to vessels that pay homage to the ancient patterns and colors of the Middle East, such as the “eagle” found on Egyptian jewelry, the exhibition will also feature a wall piece made of metal for the first time.
We hope you will enjoy the new works that have transcended the passage of time and are being spun into the present day with freshness.
